A notice regarding smoke and carbon monoxide detectors. All detectors must be UL listed with stamp on the back of the device. A UL 217 stamp is for smoke alarms, and UL 2034 stamp for carbon monoxide alarms. Combination units should have both. Click for notice regarding faulty UL stamps
The Town of Stoneham will be issuing up to date press releases as new information becomes available. The Board of Health continues to monitor all reports as they are delivered from the MAVEN electronic reporting database in use by the MDPH. The majority of monitoring cases at this time have returned as negative. The remaining reported parties identified for testing remain in precautionary self-quarantine awaiting results from the State. As of 3/15/2020 there are no confirmed cases or presumptive positive cases being reported in the Town of Stoneham.

On Saturday March 7th, several Stoneham Firefighters participated in the National Multiple Sclerosis Society Climb to the Top fundraising event where they climbed 61 flights of stairs for charity. Participating in the event were: Captain Rob Dalis, Lieutenant Charles Webber, Lieutenant Rick Darrah, Firefighter Mike Rourke, Firefighter Miles Plant and Mr. Rick Atherton (brother of late Stoneham Firefighter Dave Atherton). On Sunday January 26th, Stoneham firefighters participated in the Boston Bruins BFIT Challenge at the TD Garden. Participating in the event were: FF Nick Rolli, FF Mike Paone, FF Kyle Bowdidge, Lt Rick Darragh, Capt Dave Eastman, FF Brent Last, FF Steve Buitkus, FF Jim McLaughlin Jr, FF Brian Cronin and Mr. Rick Atherton (brother of late Stoneham FF Dave Atherton.)

The 4th Annual BFit First Responder Challenge will take place Sunday, January 26, 2020, at TD Garden. This one-of-a-kind event invites both first responders and ANYONE in the community to climb in TD Garden to benefit the families of fallen First Responders. The day also includes fun activities for friends and families while they watch the participants. There are three course levels to choose from whether you are a beginner or are a fitness enthusiast.
The event takes place to raise awareness around health & wellness. The proceeds raised will benefit first responder charities.
Participants are asked to raise a minimum of $300 in order to be eligible to take part in this event and 100% of the money you raise will go directly to the charity you choose during registration “highlight”.
We will be responsive to the needs of our citizens by providing rapid, professional, humanitarian services essential to the health, safety, and wellbeing of the community. We will accomplish our mission through fire prevention, fire safety awareness education, fire suppression, and other related emergency and non-emergency activities. We will actively participate in our community, serve as role models, and strive to effectively and efficiently utilize all of the necessary resources at our command to provide a product deemed excellent by our citizens.
