STONEHAM — Police Chief James O’Connor and Fire Chief Matthew Grafton report that the Stoneham Police and Fire Departments responded Tuesday afternoon to a rollover crash on Marble Street.
On Monday, March 11, at approximately 2:26 p.m., Stoneham Police and Fire were notified of a rollover crash at 92 Marble St., in which a car struck the front stairs of a home and then rolled onto its roof.
First responders arrived to find that a vehicle clipped another vehicle on Marble Street and then struck the steps in front of a home at 92 Marble St.
The vehicle’s driver and only occupant was trapped inside the vehicle, so Stoneham Firefighters used hydraulic tools to free the driver. The driver, an adult female who suffered what appeared to be non-life-threatening injuries, was taken to a local hospital by Cataldo Ambulance. The driver was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the crash.
A building inspector was called to the scene to evaluate damage to the home, but residents were able to remain in the home.
The crash remains under investigation by Stoneham Police with assistance from Winchester Police.
“I’m grateful that no pedestrians were on the sidewalk at the time of this crash, which occurred just before school released students,” said Chief Grafton.
